“Blog by Sharvari”

There’s a version of my day that exists for everyone else.

It’s the one where things look normal.
I go to the lab, I come back, I eat when I have to.
If you asked me how my day was, I’d probably say “fine” and mean it just enough.

I’m not complaining.
This is the life I wanted.
A routine. A place to be. Work that makes sense.
I remember wanting this.
But most of my day doesn’t feel like that “fine.”
It’s quieter. Slower. A little more draining than I expected.

By the time I’m back, I tell myself I’ll do something I actually care about.
Write. Paint. Just exist without a screen for a while.

I think of it as if I have the energy for it.
But most days, I don’t.
Or maybe I do, just not enough to choose it over something easier.

Scrolling takes less from me.
No decisions, no effort, no expectation to be good at it.
Just a quiet way to not think too much.

And somehow, that’s what most evenings become.

I think it was a Friday.

I started painting in the evening, around 6.
I told myself I’d just do a little.
I took a break for dinner.
Came back.
And then I didn’t really stop.

By the time I looked at the clock, it was almost 4 in the morning.
I didn’t feel tired while I was doing it.
I just kept going.
Like my brain finally had space to stay in one place.
I love that feeling.
When I have the time, energy, and something in me just..  flows onto the canvas without thinking twice.

But something about that night stayed with me in a strange way.
Not just the painting.
The urgency.
Like I was trying to use up all the free time I had before it ran out again.
Like, Monday was already waiting to take it back.
I don’t know why that part feels a little unsettling.
I’m grateful for my days.
I really am.
But I think I’m also a little scared of how easily they take all my energy.

And how quickly the things I care about get pushed to “later.”

There’s also this thought that shows up more often now.
That I can do more than just this.
Just a quiet, persistent feeling that there’s more I haven’t touched yet.
I don’t have an answer for that.
Most days, I’m just tired.
And even that feels strange sometimes.

Being this tired, this often,
and still wanting to do more.

From the outside, I think my life looks structured.
And it is.
But it’s also me trying to figure out how to exist after the structure ends for the day.
How to use the few hours I have left without feeling like I’m forcing something out of myself.
Some days I manage it better.
Some days I don’t.

I’m still adjusting to this version of life.

The one I once wanted.

The one I’m grateful for.

The one I’m still not entirely used to.

And I think that’s the part no one really sees.
